Canadiana Flag
Commonwealth of Nations Flag
The Flag of the Commonwealth of Nations represents a coalition of 56 member states, most of which are former British territories and colonies. The original Commonwealth flag was designed by two Canadians in 1973: Commonwealth Secretary-General Arnold Smith and Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. The flag was officially adopted in 1976. As of 2013, the flag design consists of a blue field with the Commonwealth logo in gold in the centre. The current Commonwealth logo has a tilted depiction of a globe surrounded by 34 “sun rays” in the form of the letter C. The original logo had the globe straight on with 64 rays.
