It looks like we are finally getting some warm weather here in Toronto, Canada! This is the perfect time to do some gardening with the sunny blue skies to welcome the warmer months. For the month of May, Canadiana flag is giving away a packet of clover seed mix with every order; all leading up to a good cause.
At Canadiana Flag, we are a strong advocate of social and environmental justice initiatives. We are a Canadian company that believes in the importance of contributing towards the health and well being of the planet. Therefore, we want to be part of the solution and encourage others to do the same.
We want to support the agricultural community for future generations. Specifically, plant conservation and bees are in danger. Both factors are a heavy influence towards the health of our planet. We currently have a few bee hives up north to give bees a chance to reclaim their habitat and means of survival. However, we believe that we can always help do something more.
Bees, The Heroes that We Need
Bees and other pollinators are contributors for one out of every three bites of food that we consume. They are under threat due to climate change; that lead to habitat loss and fragmentation. They are essential towards our ecosystem and for the cycles around biodiversity that keep the planet healthy. Farmers rely heavily on these pollinators to maintain plant conservation. According to Bees Matter, honey bees perform 80% of all pollination worldwide. Seventy out of the top 100 human food crops are pollinated by bees. That’s 90% of the world’s nutrition!
A Small Package that Makes a Big Difference
This Spring, join us to help our essential pollinators stay out of trouble. By dispersing or planting bee friendly Clover seeds in your garden or lawn, contributes to the survival of these important species.
Our clover seed mix is a mix of 3 gorgeous clovers; White Blossom Sweet clover, Crimson Clover and Red Clover. This array of warm red, magenta and white combination is a lovely display to match the atmosphere of the warmer months of the year. By planting clovers, you help provide bees and butterflies pollen to feed on to stimulate the future growth of plants as they move from one flower to the next. In addition, Clovers provide a safe place to nest.
